This Squirrel is Nuts!

It keeps returning to this old school desk that's on the back porch and licking it and gnawing on it.  We have to keep chasing it away.  It seems young so perhaps it hasn't yet figured out that the desk isn't an exotic kind of nut.  Either that, or it's a student-wanna-be, in which case its first lesson will be that a chair is not food.

It may be attracted by the thought of acorns...it is oak with its distinctive odor and taste. I don't think he'll stay awat for long . Haha!

@thepowmill: Interesting thought. I don't know of any oak trees near here, so assuming that a squirrel's turf spans a few city blocks, this might be one of a very small number of sources of aged oaky goodness available to it ;-) Why it would choose to gnaw on ancient wood rather than something fresh and nutritious still remains the question.

You are correct in assuming that he's a repeat visitor -- this wasn't the first time he had been caught in the act!
